After weeks of anticipation, the much-needed rain has finally reached our planting sites. This is fantastic news that will enable us to leverage the progress achieved in the last few months: our catalog now includes 300 different native species, our new encapsulation system allows us to produce around 2000 seedpods per hour, our 2nd seedpod model ensures higher germination rates, our planting capacity has tripled, and our analysis capacity has increased tenfold.
These numbers bring great news to our scaling challenge, promising a higher quality and quantity of reforestation.

🌳 Project focus: Fazenda das Palmas
This month, our operational team went planting in the municipality of Vassouras, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. This large experimental project, in collaboration with ITPA, an NGO with which we already worked with, aims to predominantly revive biodiversity by restoring ecological corridors.
This project has a strong direct social impact by giving employment opportunities and mitigating slope hazards, safeguarding the local community and infrastructure.
🌰 Women seed collectors in action
Marie de Lassus, our Seed Supply director, joined a meeting of the Portal da Amazonia network. This network coordinates over 60 seed collectors in Alta Floresta, Mato Grosso, in the Amazon region.
During the visit, Marie took part in a training workshop for a group of women who recently joined the collection network. They engaged in activities like identifying plant species, mapping collection areas, and weighing seeds.

According to a new study co-signed by 230 scientists, Biodiverse Forests hold a huge carbon sequestration potential – approximately 226 Gigatons (Gt) of carbon – BUT only if we reduce emissions. 39% could be achieved by restoring fragmented forests and cleared areas (about 61% by protecting standing forests).
This study by 18 international researchers highlights that just 2 different tree species can increase carbon storage by +35%, and having 2 to 6 species leads to an average +70% rise, calling for prioritizing biodiversity in carbon projects, rethinking ESG reports beyond tree numbers, and distinct funding for monoculture versus diverse forest restoration initiatives.
Half of the world's largest companies commit to net-zero emissions, but a third lack reduction targets; 37% cover Scope 3 emissions, with only 4% aligning with UN climate guidelines, per the Net Zero Tracker, showcasing a mixed scenario.
